Gratitude
Always express gratitude for what you possess, as circumstances can change unexpectedly. There are those who experienced daily struggles in their youth and achieved sudden wealth but lost sight of their roots. In time, everything was taken away again with no warning. Others had everything but failed to fully appreciate it, and it all vanished in the blink of an eye. Everything attained in life is not permanent.
Life is like a rollercoaster; challenges and joy come in waves. The health, wealth, and relationships you have today might not be there tomorrow, so don’t take anything for granted, not even for a second. Be grateful every single day for having an extra day to live, for the food you receive, the cozy bed you sleep in at night, and the shelter over your head keeping you warm and secure—someone else may be yearning for the life you are currently living.
You never know who looks up to you, so strive to be a person worthy of admiration. Serve as an example to the younger generations. Cease comparing your life to others, as you are unfamiliar with their struggles. You cannot equate yourself to others; it is akin to comparing a dog to a cat— everyone’s mindset is unique and every person faces distinct challenges in life. It may appear simple to step into another person’s shoes, but you are unaware of the obstacles they have overcome or are currently enduring to be where they are today. Nobody’s life is perfect; you simply must make the most of what you have. Learn to navigate your own path and focus on self-improvement each day. Strive to surpass the person you were yesterday. The only person you can measure yourself against is your former self—the person you were ten years ago, five years ago, and a year ago.
It is at the pinnacle of success that you must express the most gratitude, but above all, it is when you must demonstrate the utmost humility. Your accomplishments were not solely due to your efforts. Others struggled as intensely as you did, and some extended a helping hand when you needed it the most. Remember, it takes an army to move a mountain. Therefore, always remain humble, express perpetual gratitude, and never lose sight of where you came from, for those adversities shaped the person you are today.
